The city of Budapest itself is of course the best architectural and cultural museum but if you can spare time from your city walks, here is a list of options. Please keep in mind that most museums are closed on Mondays.

Gull Baba's Tomb

Address: 14 Mecset utca,

The tomb is an important place for Mohammedan pilgrim. The Turkish armies took posession of Buda in 1541. Gull Baba, who arrived Buda with the armies died in the Nagyboldogasszony-temple during the thanksgiving for the victory. The tomb was renovated in 1885 and in 1962 by the Turkish government.

Around the Museum in the park there are old Turkish and Hungarian gun-barrels, guns, cannons and other war equipment from the World War I and II.

The museum is the reconstruction of Liszt's last Budapest home in the old Academy of Music, where the world-famous composer lived and taught from 1881 to 1886.
