Hungary is no longer under the heavy watch of the Warsaw Pact and has very liberal entry requirements. Most Western travelers including Americans and Europeans do not need a visa or up to a 90-day stay in the Czech Republic. However, citizens of Australia and New Zealand still require a visa to enter Hungary. Visa applications can be made at the Hungarian consulates or upon arrival.
